System Summary

The l-word Market Place system allows users to buy and sell videos, books, and audio items. Users can search for a specific item and make an offer for it. Users can also list their own items for sale. Items are automatically listed for 180 days, and at anytime sellers can renew the listing for another 180 days. When offers are made, accepted, or declined, both the buyer and seller are notified.

Searching Items

Items can be browsed or searched. Browsing will allow users to view all items page by page. Searching allows users to search using specific information such as title, author, and item type. Only items matching the specified criteria will be displayed. Click For Detailed Picture

Making an offer

When a user finds an item they wish to purchase, an offer can be made to the seller. The price that is displayed by default is the minimum offer the seller would like. Shipping cost is in addition to the offer amount. Clicking "Make Offer" will notify the seller of the offer. The seller can then choose to accept of decline your offer. The buyer will be notified when the offer is accepted or declined. Click For Detailed Picture

Feedback System

The feedback system can be used to rate and comment on Market Place users. When you purchase an item, or sell an item to a user, you can then leave feedback about that user. Leaving positive feedback will let other market place users know that the seller or buyer is reliable. Leaving negative feedback will warn users that you have had a bad experience with the seller or buyer. Click For Detailed Picture

View Pending Offers

You can check the status on any offers you have made by logging into you Market Place account and clicking on "Buyer Tools". A list of all pending offers will be displayed. Any offers that have been accepted will be automatically moved to the "Purchased History" list. Any declined offers will be automatically moved to the "Declined Offers" list. You will also receive a notification e-mail when your offers are declined or accepted.

View Declined Offers

You can view a history of your declined offers by logging into you Market Place account and clicking on "Buyer Tools". Your last five declined offers will be listed. You can view a full history of declined offers by clicking on "View Full Decline History". You will also receive a notification e-mail when your offers are declined.

View Purchase History

You can view a history of your purchases by logging into you Market Place account and clicking on "Buyer Tools". Your last five accepted offers will be displayed. You can view a complete history by clicking on "View Full Purchase History". Click For Detailed Picture

Sell Video

To sell a video, log into your Market Place account, click on "Seller Tools", then click on "Sell Video". You will then be able to enter the video's information and list it for sale. By default the item will be listed for 180 days. As the days pass, you can renew the item at anytime to re-list it for another 180 days. Click For Detailed Picture

Sell Audio

To sell audio, log into your Market Place account, click on "Seller Tools", then click on "Sell Audio". You will then be able to enter the audio information and list it for sale. By default the item will be listed for 180 days. As the days pass, you can renew the item at anytime to re-list it for another 180 days. Click For Detailed Picture

Sell Book

To sell a book, log into your Market Place account, click on "Seller Tools", then click on "Sell Book". You will then be able to enter the book's information and list it for sale. By default the item will be listed for 180 days. As the days pass, you can renew the item at anytime to re-list it for another 180 days. Click For Detailed Picture

Edit items you are selling

To edit an item that you have already listed for sale, log into you Market Place, and click on "Seller Tools". You will see a list of items you have for sale. Click "Edit" next to the item you wish to edit. You will then be able to update any information for that item.

View offers for your items

All offers made for your items can be viewed under "Seller Tools". You will see a list of all pending offers. To the right of each offer is an option to accept or decline the offer. The buyer will be notified if the offer is accepted or declined.

View Sell History

To view your sale history, login to your Market Place user account, and click on "Seller Tools". The last five items you sold will be listed on this page. To view a complete list of your sell history, click on the "View Full Sell History" link. That will pop up a window displaying your complete sell history. Click For Detailed Picture
